These units can be used to perform preheat and PWHT on piping and structures. Each unit has the capacity to run 18 x 2.4 kW standard ceramic resistant elements. All units have the capability to operate either manually and/or automatically to suit all heat treatment requirements. All units are linked to a digital temperature recorder. After completion of the heating process the client is presented with an original copy of graph for their records.
All our on-site heating units are rated Extra Low Voltage (ELV) under 50Volt (ac) 0r 120Volt (dc) for added safety.
Induction heating systems employ non-contact heating. The system induces heat electromagnetically rather than using ceramic elements that are in contact with the item. Induction heating acts more like a microwave oven, the appliance remains cool while the item heats from within.
The magnetic field creates eddy currents inside the part exciting the molecules and generating heat. Because Heating occurs slightly below the metal surface no heat is wasted, these machines are up to 90% efficient and 20 times faster than conventional methods.
One of the many aspects of Induction heating that makes it attractive is the ability to adjust the coils during the heating process to accommodate unique parts and heat sinks. Pre-heating and stress relieving with an Induction heating method is extremely worker friendly due to induction coils remaining cool, thus eliminating burns and hot connectors which can be an issue when using resistant elements.
These burners have many applications, from Refractory dry outs to the PWHT of small to large sized pressure vessels and furnaces. The burners can be fired externally into insulated vessels which turns the vessel into its own furnace or can be fired into furnaces. Each burner is controlled manually and has exceptional turn down characteristics which provide high volume low temperature conditions which are essential for startup.
With a rating of 8 gigajoules and a maximum air flow of 1500m³ the burners can generate a great deal of air velocity for achieving the right air/heat convection.
All burners can run on natural gas (supplied by customer) or propane, either fuel burns extremely clean and oil free.
Foxheat has gained Authorization from the Queensland Government Department of Natural resources and mines to Install Commission Repair and operate these type B Burners. All personnel at Foxheat who operate these burners are Type B qualified Gas Fitters and deemed Competent under the Petroleum and Gas Act. This is a legal requirement by law to protect the operator and client.
These units are a higher voltage than standard Heat Treatment Units and are used when standard low voltage ceramic elements can’t produce enough power. Each element is rated at 12.5 kW. Because of their higher voltage, mains elements are mostly used for PWHT on large pipes, vessels and furnaces. The elements come in 2 types which are 4 bank tray elements and flexible ceramic elements. Tray elements with the use of bulkheads are perfect for heat treating closing seams on vessels

Furnaces are the best option for PWHT of complex shapes as the whole component is heated uniformly eliminating any introduced stresses which may occur using localized methods.
With large volumes of piping spools and/or components, using a furnace can also save time and money. We can set up a furnace at your workshop or site and heat treat greater amounts of welds in a shorter time period, requiring less labor and equipment.
Furnaces can be electric or gas depending on size and availability of power.
The TW158 is a compact lightweight thermocouple welding unit housed in a waterproof nylon carry bag which contains a tool storage space, belt loop and shoulder strap.
The TW158 has a manual and auto (hands free) operation and has a variable energy level of 20 to 50 watts per second. This unit runs on 4 x AA alkaline batteries (over 400 welds at 30 Joules) and also features a low battery LED indicator which includes Auto switch-off after 3 minutes to conserve battery. The output voltage of the TW158 is only 60 volts at 50 Joules.

The triple cable set consists of two lengths of heat and oil resistant and flame retardant (HOFR), double insulated copper cable, complete with two 300 amp female twistlock connectors and an inline female thermocouple socket on one end and two 300 amp male twistlock connectors and an inline male thermocouple plug on the other end.
Used with a pair of splitter cables the triple cable set provides a feed and return from the power source to the ceramic heater elements at the workpiece. The length of the triple cable set required for the job can be determined by the distance from the power source to the workpiece itself.

The SW12V is a battery and mains powered copacitance discharge welding unit with up to 250 Joules energy output.
This unit has a hands free operation with audible count into auto-weld and a rugged cased floor standing unit with hard wearing rubber feet to keep the unit stable while handling. The SW12V features two metre welding leads complete with a large pot magnet and interchangeable pliers (long nose for low range fine wire welding and the larger pliers for thick wire and pin welding). The unit also has panel mounted dinse connectors and an auto switch to turn the device off to conserve the battery.

For preheating, a flexible insulated preheater is used which is identical to the ceramic heater but with a superwool insulation mat encased in stainless steel mesh and a stainless steel backing attached. The preheater can be used on both a flat or curved surface and is attached to the pipe by a magnets. The stainless steel backing allows the magnet to make a strong connection between the ceramic heater and the pipe quickly and with ease. These FIP’S are used to preheat up to a temperature of 250 Degrees C.

The preheater can be used on both a flat or curved surface and is attached to the pipe by three built in limpet magnets The these three powerful magnets make a strong connection between the ceramic heater and the pipe quickly and with ease. These FIP’S are used to preheat up to a temperature of 250 Degrees C.
The 4 Way splitter is manufactured from 16mm² Copper Cable in one metre lengths as standard with a 300 amp male twistlock connector on one end to attach to the power supply and four 60 amp female twistlock connectors on the other end for attaching to the ceramic heaters.
The splitters are available in both black and orange sheath. Should you require an alternative length to the standard one metre please advise and we can provide you with a quotation for this product.
Superwool Plus, 96kg density can be used when working with temperatures up to 1100 Degrees C although short term exposure is only recommended between 1000 Degrees C and 1100 Degrees C.
Superwool Plus, 96kg density, 25mm thick is sold in a roll 7.32m long and 610mm wide.
Thermocouple Wire Type K , 0.711mm Diameter, Single Insulated , Red & Yellow (100m Roll)
The GTWb4001 Thermocouple Attachment Unit is used for attaching thermocouple wire to the work piece for accurate monitoring and recording of the work piece temperature. The unit is housed in a stainless steel chassis with a convenient tool storage compartment and comes complete with a shoulder strap. It has a membrane panel to reduce unwanted ingress of dust and moisture and a high efficiency converter for extended time between battery recharge, we estimate several hundred uses before recharge is required. The 4001 Thermocouple Welder Unit also features a recharging necessity shown by ‘Low Battery’ LED, the mains LED shows when the battery is on charge. The unit is supplied with a magnet, pliers and a mains charging lead.
